The first article of Gaëlle Cyr's dissertation has just been published in the Journal of Traumatic Stress. The article is entitled Distinguishing among symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, complex posttraumatic stress disorder, and borderline personality disorder in a community sample of women. A sample of women from the community was recruited. The study aimed to determine whether patterns of symptoms reported by these women would reveal a complex posttraumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) profile distinct from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD) profiles.
Results revealed a distinction between CPTSD symptoms and those of PTSD and BPD, which support the necessity for a better understanding of trauma sequelae, their diagnosis and treatment.
