About us

The trauma and couple research and intervention unit is centered around two themes: interpersonal trauma experiences and intimate relationships, as well as the interfaces that exist between these two themes.

How can one live harmonious close relationships after having experienced different types of abuse or relational trauma? How does one live with the repercussions of these experiences? How can one learn to trust, get to know oneself, or build self-esteem? Through our different research projects, we aim a better understanding of the protective and risk factors associated with interpersonal trauma. We wish to identify conceptual models that can guide preventive and curative interventions in order to decrease violence and foster the adjustment of trauma survivors.
